How something emerges from nothing.

Where does a thing begin, where does an action begin? Are we able to make choices or are our actions an emergent pattern of something deeper that we cannot control?

Join the performers in their action of listening. Listening to things that emerge.

I want to explain to you how I experience this world.

Maybe the essence is...

Accompanied by random projection art and live music, two dancers get entangled in a hypnotic journey.

They find themselves in a net of rules, lines and games that constantly seems to change.

An unpredictable performance, even for the performers themselves.

Is this what the world looks like through my eyes?

Dance Solo with Live music and Chalk

In the outside version of Choice of Line, the performer and musician play an improvised and constantly changing game with lines of chalk drawn live.

The performers take a look at the difference between being controlled and taking control.

And who is creating the sound? The dancer or the musician?

Do we have control over our life anyway, or are we just being thrown around?

Choice of Line - Supermarket [April 2024]

Dance Solo in Church with Live music and Food

Special version of the Choice of Line solo, created together with the Mostly Modern Festival and Food Curator's FOOD MATTERS.

With live projection and music the performers take a look at the difference between being controlled and taking control. Are you the one who is choosing, or do you let yourself be led by the mischievous marketing of the supermarket?

A one-off 2-hour event with live dance and movement improvisation, food and a 20-minute dance solo.

Using the projections of a random path and the live music, the solo explores the distinction between being controlled and taking control. The program generating this path shows a live random output that determines what happens during the performance.

When are you choosing and when are you following a path defined by all the random and chaotic coincidences in your life?

Am I in control at all, or just being thrown about?
